DISCOVERY LTF is the most advanced UAV system under 25Kg in the world. It possesses all the cutting-edge technological solutions of the smallest DISCOVERY EXP and has patented emergency system certified by EUROCAE ED-12B Level B that allows the continuation of the flight following any failure.  
The launch of DISCOVERY LTF is scheduled between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.

DISCOVERY LTF in detail

The launch of the LTF model will allow to eliminate any operational limitation by integrating the aircraft in the wider “Portenergy” infrastructure.
Thanks to the RPS AEROSPACE’s NET-CHARGE program, by 2030 it will be possible to carry out a worldwide air transportation via UAVs.
The DISCOVERY LTF series aircraft will be equipped with second generation Artificial Intelligence algorithms that will make the flight totally autonomous, with reliability level that meets the NATO’s requirements.
Substantial increase of the flight time guaranteed by the NET-CHARGE system will allow to cover routes which are considered impossible to cover until now with lightweight UAVs (under 25Kg). Therefore, DISCOVERY LTF will be essential for logistics purposes and operations that require highly reliable long distance transport in controlled airspace.
The LTF series aircraft can be used in all environments where no other lightweight UAVs have performed due to their limited performance and their insufficient reliability. The secondary flight control system, patented on a global scale, will enable DISCOVERY LTF to fly under any condition, always granting its safety in the event of failure.
DISCOVERY LTF is a part of a highly integrated network of services and applications able to make different kinds of operations that normally expend a considerable time and cost efficient and autonomous. With reference to Industrial and Safety uses, our customers estimate that the average cost of a service will be decreased by 36% if it is performed by a LTF series aircraft, with a peak reduction up to 60% in the costs.
The key to success is the approach to the whole process and product chain, with the introduction of totally autonomous and non-invasive plug and play solutions in the structure already present and tested.

RETRACTABLE LANDING GEAR

Miniaturized and efficient, the retractable landing gear represents the perfect synergy of lightness, resilience and reliability. Its minimum aerodynamic impact once retracted, allows a 7% reduction in consumption during advanced flights.

EMERGENCY SYSTEM

Patented on a global scale, the secondary aircraft flight control system enables the LTF series aircraft to operate with no limitations because they are totally inoffensive and able to continue the flight following a failure of the propulsion system.

BVLOS OPERATIONS INTEGRATION

DISCOVERY LTF integrates tracking and avoidance systems. Thanks to the extremely flexibility of their communication systems, they can be inserted in interconnected networks and infrastructures managed by more entities in co-coordination.

HIGH-EFFICIENCY Li-ion GENERATORS

The RPS AEROSPACE main power generators guarantee the maximal efficiency and capacity under high-stress conditions. Thanks to the chemical technology of the cells the flight duration is 30% over the current standard set.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The EXP series aircraft are equipped with the state-of-the-art of Artificial Intelligence applied to the vision. The autopilot enables it to operate without any remote pilot.

MAGESIUM MONOLITHIC FRAME STRUCTURE

The monolithic frame structure is realized with high-performing additive processes to guarantee light and efficient geometries that allow a 5% increase in UAVs’ autonomous flight.

MODULAR SENSORS SUITE

Thanks to the RPSconnect interfaces, all sensors are interchangeable in a single motion. Once installed on board, they are readily operational and are managed through the dedicated ground control station (GCS).

UPSIDE-DOWN PROPELLERS

The positioning of the propellers in an upside-down configuration permits to maximise the efficiency of the propulsive group, eliminating aerodynamic interference phenomena caused by air flows with the UAV structure..

GUARD MODE

Tramite la videocamera IR di pilotaggio è possibile effettuare voli di ricognizione senza payload, incrementando notevolmente l’autonomia dell’UAV. Le immagini della camera sono sempre visibili sia dalla GCS di pilotaggio, sia dalla GCS di gestione degli equipaggiamenti.
